Subject: 2008 National Bicycle Month License Plates

Dear fellow cyclists, It's that time again. We have an exciting new design for this years plate and hope you will again support us with your plate purchase. The Secretary of State has made several changes this year:
- The Secretary of State, not LIB, will mail all plates one week before the start of the event.
- If your license plates expire in April or before you MUST renew early. The Secretary of State will not mail any plates if the photocopy we send of the current plate registration expires in April or before.
- You must send a CLEAR COMPLETE copy of the registration card. Partial or unreadable copies of registration cards will not be accepted.
We are doing some market research to see how many people are interested in a permanent "Share the Road" Bicycle Plate. This plate requires a bill to be passed by the Illinois Legislature and a firm commitment for at least 850 plates. This plate would cost $25 more than standard license plates each year. If you are interested please check the box on the application form to let us know.
An application form is attached and one can also be downloaded from www.bikelib.org.
Please pass this information on to at least five of your cycling friends. We really need your help to get a permanent plate.
