Dear Club Members,

What some have called the "worlds most scenic bicycle ride," The Legacy Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Utah, LAGBRAU V is scheduled for September 2008. The 3-day and 10-day options will start on Thursday, September 4th after the Labor Day weekend. The 7-day option will start on Sunday, September 7th, in Blanding, Utah where the 10-day group will meet up with the 7-day group for the opening ceremony on Saturday, September 6th.

The fourth annual LAGBRAU had participants from 35 states and 5 foreign countries and it grew by 65% over the number of participants from 2006. This was especially encouraging after weather and transportation problems interfered with the LAGBRAU in 2006. We got through it but not without difficulty. The lessons we learned in 2006 helped us to have a very successful LAGBRAU in 2007. The word is beginning to spread about it and to give you an idea what that word sounds like, listen to these comments from a few of the 2007 participants:

• "I have ridden my bike for 35 years including through Italy, Europe and all over, and today was my best day." Diane from Colorado.


• "I'm 45 years old and traveled all over 48 continental states and Russia which is twice as big as U.S. and where I originally from and saw many beautiful and unforgettable places, but nothing even close to those sites we went by. That was like bike tour to another planet - Southern Utah... I want to thank all of you guys; Les, Ashlely, Barbara, Mark, Janeth, Howard, everyone, and unbelievably good cooking crew that fed us as good as we were home and always on time no matter what.
