The trip will take place from Tuesday, May 7 through Friday, May 10. Along with QCBC and EBC members, members of the Elmhurst (Illinois) Bicycle Club and Fox Valley Bicycle and Ski Club have been invited on the trip.
Lodging will be available at the Root River Inn and Suites in Lanesboro, Minnesota, with a block of rooms set aside for group members. Those who register and indicate they plan to take the trip will receive an email from the hotel; final reservations can then be made. The Arlington 500 is a recreational bike ride on scenic roads in Lake County. The
Arlington Heights Bicycle Club (AHBC) has hosted this ride for over 40 years. It is
attended by hundreds of riders; see the testimonials at the end of these notes.
For 2024, we moved the on-site registration and rest stop location to Lake Zurich High
School based on feedback from 2023 riders, and we will be keeping the hub and spoke
configuration. The new location provides access to all new routes with a variety of
terrain. In addition, we will be offering a wide variety of food choices.

Complete with rest stops, there is a route for everyone! Riders can choose from a variety of route options - fully supported 28, 46, 62 mile route options, to a 10 mile trail ride and NEW THIS YEAR . . . the 1.6 mile family ride. This route leads to the playground at Renaux Manor Park for face painting, bubbles, and snacks. This ride is perfect for families who have little ones on training wheels, kids just beginning to ride, or those pulling a burly who are not quite ready for longer rides. (Both the 10 and 1.6 mile rides offer a group ride with leader option.)
