This trip is the most fun week for the least amount of money. The Western UP is known for early and large amounts of snow. Our favorite place to ski, ABR, is one of the best cross country ski destinations in the Midwest and is famous for their impeccable trail grooming. From the Indianhead Motel, ABR, Wolverine Trails, and Mecca are all minutes away. Less than a two hour drive are the Porcupine Mountain Trials, Minocqua Winter Park and the Birkie Trial System as other possible skiing destinations. Three downhill ski areas are also close by. Snowshoeing, a Stormy Kromer factory tour and shopping are alternatives too. We are once again staying at The Indianhead Motel, 823 E Cloverland Dr, Ironwood, MI 49938.
