Madison 5 Lakes Fall Century – OUT OF TOWN EVENT
1. This is a century ride around the greater Madison area's 5 lakes at +3000ft. elevation 14-15 MPH, starting and ending in McFarland, WI. We will ride around lakes Kegonsa, Waubesa, Monona, Wingra and Mendota. Highlights include scenic country roads, the Yahara River bridge, Madison Capitol Building and UW Campus, Pheasant Branch Conservancy and extensive bike trail system. Accordion riding applies. NO DROP.
2. TRAIL PASS: You are required to purchase a Trail Pass (daily $5 or annual $25). https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/trailpass.html You can purchase a pass online or at any bike shop.
REST STOPS: There are an abundance of parks, gas stations and restaurants along the way. See the RideWithGPS route for POI's. Six total rest stops which include 2 quick sandwich stops plus 1 ice cream stop included.
WISCONSIN BIKE LAW: Wisconsin requires a front white light and a rear red flashing light. COVID-19 - Social distancing applies, drafting is not recommended, and masks are required to enter buildings.
POST-RIDE GATHERING: Capitol City Brewery in Middleton, for those interested in rehydration. (close at 6pm).
All Badger fans (alum or otherwise) invited to wear a UW jersey (or red and white).
LODGING:
For those interested in staying over Saturday or Sunday nights, the Sleep Inn is 1.5 miles from the start, is quiet and clean, and serves a complimentary breakfast.
