We'll head up to Genoa via Sycamore and return through Hampshire. Nice Fall temperatures. If the wind forecast holds; we may get a little push both ways!
HWP-GEN-066mi-A Ride intended to help build up to a planned century ride on October 4th. This is a NO DROP ride with expected overall average ride pace of 15-17 mph. When the wind is pushing us, we may have some near effortless 17+ mph speed. "Biking Heaven" Accordion riding expected (riders will separate and regroup (at safe distance) at major turns). Strongly suggest you have a map/cue sheet of the route and/or loaded on your GPS/phone. Plan ahead for your prep before the ride and target a 7:30am "roll time". (That means not pulling into the parking lot at 7:30! Ha :-) Please also note the following: • In accordance with Restore Illinois Phase 4 guidelines, Minimum Social Distancing rules must be followed (strongly recommend more than 6 feet while riding). • Any riders wanting to join must text me (630-750-5915) prior to 8:00 PM Saturday night confirming they wish to ride. This is so that I know who is planning to join in the event of a last-minute change of time, venue, route, etc. NO TEXT, NO RIDE. • For any/all stops, riders must wear a mask to enter public facilities. • Non-FVBSC Members/Guests: We encourage riders who do not know about the Club to take us out for a "test ride" or two. A waiver must be signed by non-Members prior to the ride. Per our Insurance company's guidelines, a guest may join a Club ride for a maximum of two events. After that, they must be a Club member to continue riding with us. This is for liability insurance reasons, as well as supporting expenses for the Club website, Ride with GPS Club subscription, etc. Any questions, please contact me @ waltermoran3@gmail.com. Look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Please Stay Safe.
