Fall Hiking in Wisconsin!

Looking for some fall hiking in southern Wisconsin?  Join Carrie for a hiking weekend 10/29-30 for one or two days of hiking ranging from easy to difficult trails.  We will be packing lunches/snacks each day.

Saturday, 10/29 - Devil's Lake State Park
MEET AT CARRIE'S HOUSE @ 8:30 AM
Approximately 7 mile hike around Devil's Lake including the the West Bluff Trail (1.4 mi), the East Bluff Trail (1.1 mi), the Balanced Rock Trail (0.4 mi) and Grotto Trail (0.7 mi) and more.  Interesting sights will include Prospect Point, Elephant Rock, Balanced Rock, and Devil's Doorway.  Restrooms and concessions available along the way.  There will be elevation!  Approximately 1.5 miles are considered "Difficult" but are broken up into 3 smaller segments.  Visit https://www.devilslakewisconsin.com/ for more info.

We can stop at Driftless Glen Distillery at the end of the hike, approx 3 miles from State Park, and get a tour of their facility.

Sunday, 10/30 - Ice Age Trails in Cross Plains
MEET AT CARRIE'S HOUSE @ 8:30 AM
Hike the IAT Table Bluff (5 mi) and Cross Plains (3.5 mi) segments with lunch break in between. Feel free to do one or both hikes. Visit https://www.iceagetrail.org/ for more info.

You will need hiking boots and a backpack to carry food, water and clothing. If you don't have hiking boots, sturdy gym shoes are fine.

You are welcome to stay free at the "Carrie's Bike & Ski Lodge" Friday and Saturday evenings - room for 6-8 hikers (2 rooms with queen beds, 1 room with twin bed, couch and air mattresses, 3 bathrooms).  Local hotels are also available.
