Unfortunately this ride is cancelled due to the rain in the forecast. Looking for a future date with better weather . . .
Terri will lead this beautiful ride along the historic I&M Canal beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 20th. You will enjoy beautiful fall colors and abundant wildlife in addition to restored locks and lock tenders’ residences and aqueducts reminiscent of a bygone era. This ride is on limestone trails at a B pace (10-12 mph avg.) and should take a total of five hours including lunch at a quaint pub in Morris. The distance is 20 miles each way. Please meet us at the Rock Run Access Point west of Joliet. Going east on I-80, take exit 127 (Houbolt Road) south and proceed across the railroad tracks. The entrance to the parking area at the Rock Run Access point is a quarter mile south of the exit on the right. Exit 127 is the first exit east of the intersection of I-80 and I-55. Please call Terri at (630) 717-9724 if you have any questions. Please use her cell phone (630) 205-9156 for last-minute arrangements. Note: The ride will not take place if rain is likely, so please call first if that is the case.
