We're back for Year 13! Once again this year we will treat all riders to an old-fashioned "Pig Roast" following their rides at no extra cost. Plan your ride accordingly, as the Pig Roast will begin serving at 11:30 a.m. We hope that you will join us on Sunday, October 13th 2019, come rain or shine, at the Richmond Township Fire Protection District's Fire Station for the thirteenth annual Richmond Associated Firefighter's Fall Fifty Bike Ride, hosted by the Richmond Firefighter's Association. This year we will feature the most beautiful scenic autumn routes into southern Wisconsin from 20 miles up to 62 miles (100km). The metric century route has over 3,000 feet of climbing. If you like hills, you'll like this route.
Routes are 62, 50, 36, 25, and 20 miles. The terrain is flat to gently rolling with an occasional hill. (The 62-mile route has some BIG hills!) Family rides are still encouraged to ride the Prairie Trail (crushed limestone) which is located right across the street from our fire station. All road routes will have rest stops with basic essential nourishment, and refreshments. A SAG wagon driver will patrol the routes to assist you if you need help. On site bicycle support will be provided courtesy of The Bike Haven (McHenry, IL), prior to the start of your ride. www.afffbikeride.org
NOTE: We post this ride as a courtesy for those club members interested in cycling events. This is not a club sponsored event. If interested in attending and you want to see if others are interested, we can list you as the ride leader. Always check out the web link for the most up to date information! We list what we know on the date we add to the FVBSC calendar; but we do not regularly check back to see if anything has changed since the original posting.
