Starved Rock State Park Hike


We will meet at Persinger Recreation Center in Geneva, IL 8:15 A.M. and then car pool to Starved Rock State Park in Oglesby, IL. We leave Geneva at 8:30 A.M. The drive to Starved Rock State Park takes approximately 90 minutes and will arrive at the Starved Rock Lodge parking lot around 10:00 A.M.

If driving on your own, meet the group at 10:00 A.M. in the parking area by Starved Rock Lodge.

* This hike requires climbing many flights of stairs and hills.  Not a beginner's hike.  
* Unpaved trails that go up and down, lots of stairs, potentially muddy paths.  
* Expect to hike a minimum of 4.5 miles.  Exploring LaSalle Canyon will be the first loop.  
* After the first loop, we'll find a spot to share lunch and discuss who wants to call it a day and who wants to continue hiking the other trails.

We'll be exploring the LaSalle trail (waterfall and other scenic opportunities).LaSalle Canyon trail option  


* Wear good hiking shoes
* Pack your lunch, snacks and water.   
* Bring a backpack for carrying your food, water and clothing layers
