This 8.9-mile family friendly ride is part of Ride Illinois' "Let's Ride" week. The rides take place throughout the state from September 8^th thro' 17^th and are in celebration of the freedom and benefits that riding a bike offers.

These community bike rides are no more than 10 miles, are free of charge and open to all. This event encourages adults and children to enjoy a casual bike ride with their neighbors and to experience their community by bike. The route uses regular roads and streets that have light to moderate traffic. For this reason participation is limited to the following restrictions:

• Registration required.
• Age limited to cyclists 12+ years.
• Riders under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Helmets are required (no exceptions)!
• Ride leader reserves the right to divide riders into groups of 12 - 15.

• Riders should familiarize themselves with the ISOS Rules of the Road for Bicyclists.
• You are encouraged to take Ride Illinois' Bike Safety Quiz.
• Prior to the ride perform the ABC Quick Check on your bicycle.
  • Air: Ensure the tires are properly inflated.
  • Brakes: Check for adjustment and brake pad wear.
  • Chain, Crank & Cassette: Make sure chain is lubricated, free from rust and gunk and runs smoothly without chatter.
