Join me on a 10mi. hike with the Forest Trails Hiking Club followed by a winter picnic cookout.
Text Tony if going: 630-639-1195 Deer Grove Hike & Winter Picnic ~10 mile hike at 9:30 am Leaders: Griff Butler and Paula Peterson (847/372-3445 or pwp230@gmail.com) There will be no lunch stop, as we will have a picnic after the hike. Take 1-90 to 1-290 north (also Rte. 53)north to Dundee Rd. (Rte. 68). Go west on Dundee Rd. for 3 miles to Quentin Rd. Turn right (north) and go one-half mile to the Deer Grove entrance and turn left (west). Meet at Grove 5. After the hike, the club will hold their Winter Cook-Out. Bring some goodies to share. A gas grill will be available. This picnic will take place regardless of the weather. The covered pavilion provides shelter and has a fireplace for warmth. Bring a warm jacket to change into after the hike and a cushion to sit on, if desired.
